TURTLE WATCHING

Cape Verde is the third largest reserve in the world for number of turtles and Boa vista is the island where the species "carretta carretta" nests the most. The numerous guided tours offer the opportunity to observe the laying of eggs and the hatching. The spawning visits take place from the beginning of July to the end of October, while from September to November it is possible to observe the turtles in the hatcheries on the beaches.

BOA VISTA WHALES

In spring, from the beginning of March to the end of May, it is possible to observe the whales, which come from the North Atlantic to Cape Verde for the mating season. The excursion with an expert marine biologist will last about three hours and will be pleasant, immersive and safe.

SNORKELING

Thanks to the precious biodiversity of the island, Cape Verde is one of the best places in the world to snorkel. Gatas Bay, located in the northeast of the island, is characterized by spectacular corals and crystal clear waters - the perfect combination for snorkeling. The activity is only possible at high tide because at low tide the seabed is too shallow.
